    Beatmine Studio

is a boutique music production and recording studio in Berlin with a focus of providing state of the art sound in a comfortable and inspiring environment.

It is ideal for music and post productions, vocalists, voice-over artists, band recordings and many other applications.

Profiting from a broad network in the music scene and industry, producer, engineer, and owner of Beatmine Studio Stefan Fuhr, provides a wide range of services and gernes.

A brief overview of the space:

Control Room / Live Room: 25m2

    Dry Vocal Booth: 4m2

    SERVICES

    RECORDING

Professional microphones prestine preamps and the dry vocal booth are a ideal setup for recording vocals, Rap, voice over and smaller acoustic instruments.

The bigger studio room is designed for recording drums, small bands and ensembles. Its well balanced acoustics are quite dry with short but lively and dense reflections.

    EDITING

Applications for my editing can be:

    • Adjusting the timing of Rap so it sits perfectly in the beat.

    • Form the intonation of vocals so it's in perfect pitch while still sounding natural.

    • Bend the timing of drum or instrument recordings so it's rhythmically perfect and/or giving it the missing groove.

    ...

    imagination is the limit here.

    MIXING

Protools, Studio One, a broad selection of audio plugins , 2 sets of complementing monitors and well balanced acoustics form a perfect mixing environment.

My goals in mixing are clearity and balance of all instruments while giving your track punch and fatness. Bringing out the character of a voice while having it sit perfectly in the mix.

I love makeing tracks sound natural and acoustic as much as I love to tweak sounds in crazy ways and AutoTune vocals to deliver that radio sound and/or make your track sound really unique and special.

    PRODUCTION

I love to be creative and find the ideas and sounds that inspire and bring out the soul of an artist.

My large network of diverse musicians give me access to a wide variety of sounds, styles and genres.

Combined with my services as a recording and mixing engineer I can offer a full production from writing a song to a fully mastered product.

    ABOUT

After working as a sound engineer at WDR and Deutsche Welle in Cologne for seven years and then working as a bass player with artists like Yusuf/Cat Stevens and Sido for another twelve years, Stefan Fuhr combines his extensive experience as a musician and his passion for sound to create and found Beatmine Studio.

As a bassplayer his career has him taken all over world playing not only for diverse artists such as Yusuf/Cat Stevens and Sido, but also Dead Prez, Adel Tawil, Culcha Candela, and Jimmy Sommerville. He has performed on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon in New York City, MTV Unplugged, the Nokia Theater in LA, the Apollo Hammersmith in London, Festival Vina del Mar in Chile, the Donauinselfest in Vienna, and the Olympia Stadium in Berlin amongst many other venues and events.

Stefan studied classical and jazz piano from the age of 6 before joining his first band at the age of 16. Later he picked up the bass and fell in love with the fatness, the groove and the physical impact of the sound. During this time Stefan slowly taught himself sound engineering and pursued a career at Deutsche Welle and WDR.

Stefan Fuhr's musical passion are for groove heavy genres such as Hip Hop, RnB, Neo-Soul, and contemporary Jazz. He hosts the weekly open mic Hip-Hop jam session "The Swag Jam" with his band The Swag, which has a reputation for being a strong underground center of the hip hop community in Berlin, pulling in visitors and guest artists from all over the world every Tuesday night. Using the network he built and the skills he learned in his career as a musician, Stefan is now integrating his skills as a producer and sound engineer at Beatmine Studios and also as a member of the Beatmine prodution team and backing band with Chriz Key (keys) and Muhammad Ra'fat (drums). His hobby of building furniture for his home and his experience as a construction worker in his early Berlin days also came in handy when Stefan renovated the space and built his studio from scratch.
